Managing And Failing

This week I have been trying to take a good picture of all my babies together for a Christmas gift (yes, it's that time of year again) and failing;

Miserably!! The problem with there being four of them is that they don't look the right way/smile/not look like a nutcase all at the same time!!

We did manage to make lovely pink buns;

And we had a great time sharing them with our friends!

I managed to make a shoulder bag for my sister's birthday (but failed to take a good photo);

And a zippy pouch to go inside filled with yummy chocolates;

We managed a lovely trip to Blackpool to see the lights. I even managed to take a good photo of the fancy tram;

There has been some slow but successful knitting, some button jewellery making by Elizabeth, a brillaint trip to SAMS for goodies for Christmas crafting and present making, some lazy half term holiday days, trips to the park and visits with friends.

I am mostly managing, which is good :-)

And my failures are not too major; mostly failing to iron and wash the floors but managing to snuggle and read and be together which will do me for now.

Thank You (again)!!

A huge big thank you to Terri over at Purple&Paisley for the beautiful blanket she has crocheted for Sebastian;

The colours are truer in this picture;

It is thick and soft and just so lovely and really special as it has been made with love and has travelled all the way from America!!

Thank you so much Terri :-)

And Rest....

The last two weeks seem to have been an endless round of sore nipples (although much better since the blisters peeled off), wet (and yellow) baby nappies, visitors, playgroups, art classes, training, school runs and ironing.

Sunday we woke up to beautiful sunshine;

And set off for a walk in the woods;

We spotted squirrels;

And crocodiles;

Looked over fences to see what we could see;

And nosied in the river;

A lovely crisp day, wrapped up warm with a small boy strapped to my chest, a slightly bigger boy holding my hand, two lovely girls milling around (and holding hands when no one could see) and a lovely husband who occasionally got to hold my hand too :-)

There is some knitting on the go and the self portrait I have been creating through the Art-as-therapy group is nearly ready for the grand unveiling, christmas gifts have been thought about and half put into action so maybe I'll be back with something I have created, soon?

A Snooze

Just had to show you my sleepy boys this afternoon. Nathaniel looks huge in this shot and really he is the tiniest two year old you could meet!

Thank You

A big huge thank you to those lovely residents of blogland who sent me lovely gifts!

Firstly this is a little blue hat knitted by Jenny;

She also knitted a lovely stripey jumper and made a fluffy birdie affair which is hanging up, I will take pictures at some point........

Gina sent me these tiny weeny slippers;

And they are a perfect fit for Sebastian's tiny weeny feet;

Today the postman delivered this from the very lovely and talented Jackie;

His very own Harris Tweet!

Ruth over at TipTopToppers sent me an amazing first year book that she made. It is really beautifully put together and I can't wait to start putting pictures in it. You can see pictures of it here and pictures of the card she made here.

Emma sent me some baby goodies a while ago and he looks very cute all naked and wrapped in his big fluffy towel :-)

A big thank you to Lynsey's sister Sarah who crocheted me the loveliest baby blanket in greens and yellows (using some of my unwanted stash).

So thank you all so much, you have made me feel really special and my new little man is already surrounded by one-of-a-kind handmade loveliness!

What A Lovely Place......

....... Blogland is!!

Lynsey came to see me today and snuggle my new boy. She bought with her lovely handmade gifts from the lovely ladies of blog. You know who you are and you made my day especially the one who seems to have been behind it all! I will do a post with proper thanks and pictures of the beautiful gifts but for now I am just here to show you some pictures (as promised days ago).

Elizabeth and her smallest brother at about ten minutes old;

Francesca and a very new Sebastian;

Sebastian on the comfiest shoulder in the house;

Nathaniel loving his new baby;

He was very unimpressed at first and told us he thought the baby was horrid! My heart sank but I think he was just so tired and overwhelmed by events of the day that grumpiness was all he could manage. He loves him now and regularly plonks toy cars in his lap and asks if he can cuddle him.

Here's my sleeping bundle last night at just three days old;

He is very lovely and we are very glad he is here but I am so tired and glad that tomorow is Saturday and I can have a long bath and maybe some extra hours in bed :-)

I hope you all have a restful weekend too.
